How Pre-Test Assessment (PTA) collects, uses and protects your personal information. Please read it in full. Last updated: 27 October 2026.
1.1 Pre-Test Assessment (PTA) is an EdTech company in Pakistan that trains and tests candidates for the MDCAT. At present PTA offers MDCAT preparation only. PTA is not owned or sponsored by any Government body, PMDC or any university.
1.2 This policy explains what personal information PTA collects, why, who sees it and how long it is kept. It applies to the PTA Web Site and the PTA Web App.
1.3 By creating an account, a person agrees to this policy and to PTA's Terms & Conditions.
2.1 Details you give us when you register: name, father's name, date of birth, CNIC number, picture, domicile (province, category and district), qualification, experience, mobile and WhatsApp number, email address, the name, relationship and emergency mobile or WhatsApp number of a parent or guardian, and examinations you have appeared in.
2.1a If you lose both your email address and your mobile number, PTA identifies you through its WhatsApp: you send photographs of both sides of your CNIC and take part in a short video call with PTA's Candidate Services team. The photographs are kept privately with the record of the change, seen only by PTA's Candidate Services team and Super Admin, and deleted with your other personal information. The video call is not recorded.
2.2 A disability, where you ask PTA for a special arrangement in tests (extra time or a larger display). It is seen only by PTA's Super Admin and Candidate Services, and used only to decide and give that arrangement.
2.3 Payment details: the transaction ID and the screenshot of your bank transfer. PTA does not ask for and does not store your bank password, card number or PIN.
2.4 Your work on the portal: the examination and package you chose; your answers, marks, mastery levels and reports; your attendance at tests; any warning or content integrity record; and tickets and emails you send us.
2.5 Reserved: this clause applies to examinations PTA does not offer at present (only the MDCAT is offered).
2.6 Sign-in and device information: your registration number, the times you sign in, the device and the approximate place you sign in from. This is used to enforce the one-device rule and to detect sharing of sign-in details. You can see your last 10 sign-ins in My profile and sign out of every device.
2.7 Recordings: PTA may record the online interviews it holds with a candidate on the integrity of his work.
2.8 On the Web Site: the Web Site holds no account and asks for no personal details. If you write to PTA on WhatsApp, PTA receives your number and your messages.
3.1 To create and run your account, verify your identity and confirm your email address and mobile number.
3.2 To verify your payment and activate your enrolment.
3.3 To teach, test and assess you, and to show you and PTA's teachers your progress.
3.4 To send you confirmation codes, links and notices by email. One exception: a code to approve a change of your email address, or to identify you when you have lost it, is sent by text message (SMS) to your registered mobile number, and a code to confirm a new mobile number, where you have lost both your email address and your mobile number, is sent by SMS to that new number, under PTA's sender name "PreTest". PTA uses your WhatsApp number only to get in touch with you; it sends no codes to it.
3.5 To reach your parent or guardian on the emergency number you give, in an emergency only.
3.6 To prevent and investigate fraud, cheating, sharing of sign-in details and leaking of PTA's material.
3.7 To answer your tickets, appeals and complaints, and to act on your requests (such as an MDCAT 2027 catch-up, kept with your record as the reason your weeks were opened).
3.8 To improve PTA's teaching and tests. For this PTA uses results with names removed wherever it can.
3.9 To remind you, by the bell on your dashboard and by email, when you fall behind your calendar or your sign-up, using your sign-ins, tests and study activity.
3.10 To run your free trial test and show you its result; your answers and score are kept with your account, and PTA may use them, with names removed, to improve its questions.
3.11 To show the leaderboard: your test percentiles are worked out against the other active candidates who sat the same test, and averaged into your leaderboard figure (Terms & Conditions 8.11).
4.1 Payment is by bank transfer to PTA's account. PTA sees the transfer on its own bank statement and matches it with the transaction ID and screenshot you upload.
4.2 Payment proofs are kept privately and are seen only by the staff who verify payments and by PTA's Super Admin.
4.3 A refund, where one is due under the Terms & Conditions, is paid only to the bank account the money came from.
5.1 PTA does not sell your personal information.
5.2 PTA's own staff, each only as far as his work requires: those who verify payments, teach, mark, answer tickets and keep the system running.
5.3 Service providers who work for PTA, such as the companies that host the portal, send email, send text messages and host video lectures. They may use the information only to provide that service to PTA.
5.4 The law. PTA may disclose information where a law, court or lawful authority requires it.
5.5 PTA does not send your results or record to any college, university or examining body.
5.5a Reserved: this clause applies to examinations PTA does not offer at present (only the MDCAT is offered).
5.6 Publicity. PTA may show results without names. It uses a candidate's name or picture in publicity only with his consent.
5.7 The leaderboard. If you are among the top 25 of your examination on PTA or in your district of domicile, your full name, district, position and leaderboard figure are shown to the other candidates of your examination on their dashboards. Nothing else about you is shown. For a candidate under 18, the parent or guardian's acceptance covers this (section 9.2).
6.1 PTA keeps your information for as long as your account is in use and for a period afterwards, so that it can answer questions about your record, results and payments.
6.2 Where an account is suspended or disabled, PTA keeps the CNIC, mobile number, WhatsApp number and email address so that the same person cannot register again without PTA's permission.
6.3 Warnings and content integrity records are kept permanently as part of the candidate's record.
6.4 Periods: payment proofs are kept for five years, for PTA's accounts and tax; other personal information for three years after his last enrolment ends; warnings and content integrity records permanently (clause 6.3).
7.1 Passwords are stored in scrambled form. No member of PTA's staff can read your password.
7.2 Access to personal information is limited to the staff who need it, and what each admin does is recorded.
7.3 An account works on one device at a time.
7.4 Answer copies are stored privately on PTA's own server, not on public links.
7.5 No system is perfectly secure. You must keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell PTA at once if you believe someone else has used your account.
8.1 You can see and correct your details in My profile. A change to your email address is approved by a code sent by SMS to your registered mobile number and confirmed by a fresh code sent to the new address; a change to your mobile or WhatsApp number is approved by a code sent to your registered email address. If you have lost both, contact PTA's WhatsApp.
8.2 You may ask PTA what information it holds about you, or ask for a mistake to be corrected, by writing to PTA's support email from your registered email address.
8.3 Requests about your personal data. To see what PTA holds about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to report a suspected leak, write to support@pretestassessment.com from your registered email address, marked "Personal data". PTA's Candidate Services team answers within 30 days. A request to delete is decided by Super Admin (A); PTA keeps what it must keep, such as payment records, results and the record of actions, for the periods in clause 6.4.
8.4 PTA cannot remove records it needs to keep its tests honest, to prevent fraud, to settle a dispute or to obey the law: for example payment records, results, warnings and suspensions.
9.1 PTA's MDCAT preparation is open to students under 18 as well.
9.2 For a student under 18, a parent or guardian accepts the Terms & Conditions and this policy on his behalf. PTA collects the parent or guardian's name, CNIC, a picture of his CNIC and contact number for that purpose and may contact him about the student's account and fee. PTA sends the parent or guardian no reports of the student's progress and gives him no view of the student's account.
9.3 The information of a student under 18 is otherwise collected, used and protected in the same way as that of any other person.
9.4 At his first sign-in after he turns 18, the candidate accepts PTA's Terms & Conditions and this policy himself. PTA then no longer contacts his parent or guardian about his account or fee; the emergency contact stays on his record for use in an emergency only.
10.1 PTA may change this policy. The new policy applies from the day it is shown on the Web Site and the portal.
11.1 Questions about this policy go to PTA's support email, support@pretestassessment.com, from your registered email address. PTA's WhatsApp number is +92 346 2020000.
