Pre-Test Assessment
TERMS & CONDITIONS

Terms & Conditions

These are the terms every candidate accepts before an account is created with Pre-Test Assessment (PTA). Please read them in full. Last updated: 30 October 2026.

1. Agreement

1.1 These terms are a binding agreement between Pre-Test Assessment ("PTA") and the person creating an account ("the candidate").

1.2 By ticking "I agree", the candidate confirms he has read, understood and accepted all of these terms and PTA's Privacy Policy. No account is created without this.

1.3 The candidate confirms that every detail he gives is true.

1.4 Candidates under 18. A person under 18 may use PTA's services only where his parent or lawful guardian accepts these terms on his behalf. The parent or guardian gives his own name, CNIC, a picture of his CNIC and his contact number, and ticks "I agree". By doing so he confirms that he is the candidate's parent or lawful guardian; accepts these terms for himself and for the candidate; and is responsible for the fee and for the candidate keeping to these terms. Everything these terms say of the candidate applies to both of them. The terms go on binding the candidate after he turns 18 for as long as he uses the account. At his first sign-in after he turns 18, the candidate accepts these terms himself before he can go on. PTA then no longer contacts his parent or guardian about his account or fee, except in an emergency.

1.5 Emergency contact. Every candidate, whatever his age, gives the name and emergency mobile or WhatsApp number of a parent or guardian. PTA may contact that person in an emergency only.

1.6 Progress is the candidate's own. PTA reports a candidate's progress to the candidate only. It sends no reports of his progress to his parent or guardian and gives no one else a view of his account. Only the leaderboard (clause 8.11) shows other candidates anything about him.

2. What PTA is, and is not

2.1 PTA equips, prepares, trains and tests candidates for the MDCAT (the Medical and Dental College Admission Test). At present PTA offers MDCAT preparation only. It may add other examinations later, each on the terms PTA then publishes.

2.2 PTA does not guarantee admission to any college, a pass, a score, a rank, a merit position or any result in the MDCAT or any other examination.

2.3 Reserved: this clause applies to examinations PTA does not offer at present (only the MDCAT is offered).

2.4 PTA is a private, independent body. It is not affiliated with, approved by or acting for the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), any university or body that conducts the MDCAT, or any government department.

2.5 Eligibility for any examination (age, qualification, domicile, attempts) is the candidate's own responsibility. PTA does not check or guarantee it.

2.6 Applying to the examining body, paying its fee and meeting its deadlines are the candidate's own responsibility.

3. Account and registration number

3.1 One person may hold one account, on one CNIC, one email address, one mobile number and one WhatsApp number, none of which may be used for another account. The email address is changed in My profile, approved by a code sent to the registered mobile number; a mobile or WhatsApp number is changed in My profile, approved by a code sent to the registered email address. PTA issues a PTA registration number against the CNIC at first sign-up; it is reserved for that CNIC and does not expire. PTA verifies a candidate by his CNIC and registered email address; where the email is lost, by a code sent to his registered mobile number; and where neither is available, through PTA's WhatsApp, on photographs of his original CNIC and a video call with PTA's Candidate Services team.

3.2 The candidate must give an email address and his WhatsApp number; an account is not created without both. He must confirm the email address. PTA sends every code, link and notice to the registered email address, except three codes sent by text message (SMS): to his registered mobile number, the code that approves a change of his email address (clause 3.1) and the code used when he has lost his email address; and, where he has lost both his email address and his mobile number, the code that confirms his new mobile number. The candidate is responsible for keeping his email address working and for reading it. PTA may use the WhatsApp number to get in touch with him. A candidate who has lost his registered email address is identified by his CNIC and his mobile number, by that code; he may then set a new password and change his email address under clause 3.1.

3.3 A registration number issued by PTA is linked with the candidate's CNIC and does not expire. A number for which no fee has been verified gives no access to any service. The closing or ending of one enrolment does not affect another.

3.4 The candidate is responsible for everything done under his account. After five wrong passwords in a row sign-in is locked for 3 hours; after ten, sign-in stays locked until he sets a new password through the reset link sent to his registered email address, or, where he has lost that address, by the code sent to his registered mobile number. This is not a suspension.

3.5 PTA sends its notices to the candidate's confirmed email address. A deadline runs from the moment the email is sent. The candidate is responsible for reading his email and his status screen; not having read a notice does not extend any deadline.

3.6 PTA keeps, against each CNIC, a record of every service the person has taken from PTA.

4. Credentials and one device

4.1 The registration number and password are personal. They must not be shared, lent, sold or used by anyone else.

4.2 The account works on one device at a time. Signing in on another device ends the earlier session.

4.3 PTA may record devices, locations and sign-in times to detect sharing. When a sign-in on another device ends his session, the candidate is told on the screen and by email. A pattern suggesting sharing is looked into under clause 12.

5. Fees and payment

5.1 Fees are those shown on the plan screen on the day of payment.

5.2 Payment is by bank transfer to PTA's account only, with proof uploaded on the portal. Payment to any person or other account is at the candidate's own risk. With the proof the candidate states the amount he has paid in figures, which the portal writes out in words for him to check; that statement is his own, and he may not afterwards claim that a short payment or an overpayment was made by mistake.

5.3 An enrolment is active only after PTA verifies the payment. This is usually done within 24 hours. That is a target and not a guarantee.

5.4 False, edited or reused payment proof leads to suspension under clause 12.

5.5 A payment proof that PTA sends back may be corrected and resubmitted within 48 hours, and not more than five times. After the fifth resubmission that cannot be accepted, that enrolment is closed. This is not a suspension: any other enrolment the candidate holds is not affected. He may apply to PTA through its support email, from his registered email, to have the enrolment reopened; PTA may refuse.

5.6 A renewal is charged at the fee in force on the day of renewal. PTA may change its fees from time to time; a change does not affect an enrolment already activated.

6. Fees: refunds, transfer and change

6.1 A verified fee for an activated enrolment is non-refundable, in full and in part, for any reason, including: change of mind, failure to use the service, failure in any examination, change or cancellation of an examination by the examining body, suspension, or the subscription running out.

6.2 Where PTA establishes that it received a payment, the candidate receives what he paid for. If the amount is the fee of the package he chose, that package is activated. If it exactly matches another package of the same examination, PTA asks him: he may accept the matched package or pay the balance for the package he chose.

6.3 PTA returns money in these cases only: (a) a surplus over the fee; (b) the same payment made twice; (c) a short payment that matches no package, where the candidate chooses to take it back and not to pay the balance within 48 hours of being asked.

6.4 How a refund is made: the candidate applies through PTA's support email. Refunds are approved by PTA's Super Admin, are paid only to the bank account the money came from, and are made within 30 days of the request.

6.5 Where PTA cannot establish that it received a payment, there is nothing to return.

6.6 A surplus or a duplicate payment is not linked to any offence. It is returned under clauses 6.3 and 6.4 whatever the candidate's standing, including where he is suspended. The fee itself is not refunded to a suspended candidate (clause 12).

6.7 An enrolment is non-transferable. It cannot be given, sold or moved to another person, another examination or another period, except by an upgrade under clause 6.8.

6.8 A package cannot be changed after activation. Before activation, the package may be settled by the amount actually paid, under clause 6.2. A candidate holds one enrolment at a time. An MDCAT candidate does not change his examination. After a package ends, a person may enrol again.

6.9 A subscription ends seven days after its expiry date; those seven days are a grace period, during which the service stays open and a renewal is treated as made before expiry. It is not otherwise paused or extended for illness, travel, employment or any personal reason.

6.10 Renewal. A candidate who renews before his subscription ends carries forward his track, analytics, assessments, results and record. Renewal opens fourteen days before the expiry date and stays open until the grace period ends. The renewed subscription starts on the day the renewal fee is paid, that is, the day the candidate submits his proof of payment, once PTA verifies it; any time remaining on the earlier subscription is not added to it. There is no limit on the number of renewals. A subscription that ends without renewal is closed, and PTA is not bound to carry anything forward; a candidate who enrols again after it has ended starts afresh and sits a new Diagnostic Test.

7. The programme

7.1 The candidate begins with a Diagnostic Test, taken online. It is taken once. A Diagnostic Test not submitted by 11:59 pm Pakistan time on the 7th day of activation (the day of activation being day 1) expires and cannot be taken later; the candidate is recorded as not having opted for it, and his week 1 opens at that moment, or on the date MDCAT 2027's calendar begins if that is later (clause 7.7). If he cannot start it because PTA has not made it ready (its paper or its questions not yet in place), he raises a ticket, and PTA deals with it there. If his connection fails during the test, his answers up to that point stay recorded and measured, and he resumes from there within the time left; the clock keeps running while he is offline.

7.2 Content is released in sequence, week by week, on the candidate's calendar, starting when he submits his Diagnostic Test (for MDCAT 2027, not before 16 November 2026: clause 7.7). His next week's content opens at the time PTA sets, at present 5:00 am every Monday. For MDCAT, Biology, Chemistry and Physics are taught every week from week 1 to week 36; English in weeks 1 to 16 and 29 to 36; and Logical Reasoning in weeks 17 to 28. From week 37, every week is a revision and review week with a full mock, until his subscription ends. Weeks and tests are numbered without a break for as long as the candidate renews. The calendar is not paused: weeks that fall after his subscription ends are not given, so a candidate should submit his Diagnostic Test within 7 days of activation. PTA may change the sequence and its timing.

7.3 PTA decides the content, its order, the teachers, the timetable, the number and form of tests, and may change any of them at any time.

7.4 PTA may add, remove or replace any feature, subject or service.

7.5 Reserved: this clause applies to examinations PTA does not offer at present (only the MDCAT is offered).

7.6 Reserved: this clause applies to examinations PTA does not offer at present (only the MDCAT is offered).

7.7 Weekly and monthly tests. The candidate sits the tests PTA sets, at present: a weekly test of 100 questions (multiple choice, with fill in the blank in Biology, Chemistry and Physics), open from 5:00 pm on Friday to 11:59 pm on the Monday after; in weeks 4, 8 … 36 that week's test is the monthly test, a full mock of 180 questions in 3 hours; and from week 37 a full mock every week in place of the weekly test, each such week being a revision and review week, until the candidate's subscription ends. MDCAT 2027 runs on one calendar: week 1 opens on Monday 16 November 2026 for every candidate ready by then, and week 36 ends on Sunday 25 July 2027. The monthly tests and the weekly full mocks are multiple choice only, like the real MDCAT paper; the weekly test, the Diagnostic Test and the free trial test also have fill in the blank in Biology, Chemistry and Physics (about a third of each science's questions), answered by typing the missing word or number. Every test is drawn by the portal for each candidate from PTA's question bank. The question paper is read on the screen only; it may not be downloaded, printed or copied. A test may be started at any time while it is open; once started, it ends when its time runs out, even past the closing time. Each test may be attempted once only.

7.8 One enrolment at a time. A candidate holds one enrolment at a time (clause 6.8), and his tests follow its calendar.

7.9 When things go wrong. If PTA's portal fails while a test is open, the time allowed is extended by the length of the fault and no candidate is marked absent because of it. An upload begun before the closing time may finish. A candidate's own loss of connection, or his leaving a test by mistake, does not stop a test's clock; he may return and continue while his time lasts. While a test is in progress, a second sign-in is refused. A test not taken counts as zero and is recorded as absent. Tests run on public holidays as on any other day. PTA's planned maintenance is announced beforehand and is not carried out while a test is open. All times are Pakistan time.

7.10 Special arrangements. PTA may grant a candidate with a disability 25% extra time on every timed test, a larger display on the test screens, or both, on his request through PTA's support email, until a date PTA sets; the decision is PTA's.

7.11 Videos. PTA's videos are released week by week on the candidate's own calendar, one for each learning objective, and stay open for the rest of his subscription. PTA does not hold live classes. A candidate may ask, through PTA's support email, for a new video on a topic he finds confusing; whether to make one is PTA's decision.

7.12 MDCAT 2027 catch-up. A candidate of the MDCAT who joins late may ask, through PTA's support email and until 31 May 2027, that his closed weeks be opened so that he can finish the syllabus by 25 July 2027. If PTA agrees, his calendar is counted from 16 November 2026: the weeks up to that point open at once and his subscription expires on the date it would have if he had begun on 16 November 2026. The choice is his own and optional; no fee is refunded for the shorter period. The test of each week whose time had passed before his weeks were opened becomes a back test: he may sit it, in week order and once only, when he has studied that week, until the end of week 36 (25 July 2027); it counts like any test, and one not sat by then is counted as missed (0).

7.13 Free trial test. A person who chooses the MDCAT may sit one free trial test of 20 questions in 20 minutes before he pays. It is offered once, drawn by the portal from a small set of PTA's questions kept for it, and counts towards nothing. Its result is a snapshot of how he did on those questions, not a prediction of his MDCAT result; the questions and their answers are not shown afterwards. Sitting it does not oblige him to buy a plan, and no plan or subscription begins until his payment is verified.

8. Tests, marking and results

8.1 PTA's marks, mastery levels, remarks, rankings and reports are PTA's academic judgement. They are final and are not open to appeal, re-marking or challenge.

8.2 Reserved: this clause applies to examinations PTA does not offer at present (only the MDCAT is offered).

8.3 PTA's results are for preparation only. They do not predict and are not connected to any official result.

8.4 No certificate. PTA's MDCAT preparation has no viva voce, no physical examination and no certificate. PTA's results are a record of training only.

8.5 PTA's No Negative Marking Rule: no PTA test deducts marks for a wrong answer. A wrong or skipped answer scores zero, in every test (the Diagnostic Test, practice, the weekly and monthly tests and the full mocks) and for every examination.

8.6 The Diagnostic Test is taken online only.

8.7 Reserved: this clause applies to examinations PTA does not offer at present (only the MDCAT is offered).

8.8 Reserved: this clause applies to examinations PTA does not offer at present (only the MDCAT is offered).

8.9 Reserved: this clause applies to examinations PTA does not offer at present (only the MDCAT is offered).

8.10 Mastery and percentile. A candidate's mastery is worked out from his tests alone (practice is for learning and does not count towards it), and starts afresh at the start of each year of study; earlier years are kept as history. His percentile in a test compares him with the active candidates of the same examination who sat the same test (for example Weekly test 14 or Full mock 2), and is a guide only. The weak skills and the next learning objective that PTA recommends to him are guidance only; they never lock content or change his calendar. From his week 33, a recommendation may open, for that purpose alone, the notes, videos and practice of an LO outside the subjects he takes; this gives him no other right to that subject, and it counts towards none of his mastery.

8.11 Leaderboard. PTA ranks the active candidates of each examination by the average of their percentiles in the weekly tests, monthly tests and full mocks of their year of study, a test missed or cancelled counting as 0. The top 25 of all of PTA, and of each district of domicile, are shown to the other candidates of that examination by full name and district, with their position and figure; a candidate's own position is shown to him. By accepting these Terms the candidate (or, under 18, his parent or guardian) agrees to his name and district being shown in this way. The leaderboard is a guide only and gives no right to any prize or place.

9. Content integrity

9.1 Every answer and test must be the candidate's own unaided work.

9.2 Forbidden: copying, impersonation, another person sitting a test, outside help during a test, any tool or software that answers for the candidate, and any attempt to see questions or answers in advance.

9.3 PTA may use any method to detect cheating and may cancel any result it believes was not honestly earned. The cancelled test scores nothing and is not sat again separately: his next regular test of the same kind takes its place. A Diagnostic Test cancelled for cheating is not taken again; PTA may question the candidate online on it.

9.4 Cheating in a test, or using unfair means, is a content integrity violation. Each time PTA holds clear evidence of it: the test is cancelled: it scores nothing, counts towards neither his mastery nor his percentile, and his next regular test of the same kind takes its place; the violation is recorded in the candidate's content integrity record, which he can see; and he receives a written warning.

9.5 A candidate whose case is doubtful may be interviewed online by an official assigned by PTA, when PTA calls him, to assess whether he is improving and gaining knowledge.

9.6 After ten warnings the account is suspended under clause 12. Warnings are counted per candidate, across every enrolment he holds, and are not wiped by renewal.

9.7 A candidate reinstated after such a suspension is suspended again after five further warnings, and the same applies after every later reinstatement.

9.8 Every warning and every suspension remains on the candidate's record permanently.

9.9 The integrity of a submitted answer is the candidate's own responsibility. PTA may question him online on any answer he has submitted, to check his command of that topic.

10. PTA's material

10.1 All videos, notes, questions, tests, model answers, designs and software belong to PTA.

10.2 The candidate receives a personal, limited right to view them during his subscription. Nothing is sold to him.

10.3 Forbidden: downloading, recording, screen-capturing, photographing, copying, sharing, posting, selling or teaching from PTA's material, in any form, during or after the subscription.

10.4 PTA may mark material with the candidate's identity to trace leaks.

10.5 A candidate who leaks material is liable for PTA's full loss, in addition to suspension.

11. Conduct

11.1 The candidate must be respectful to teachers, staff and other candidates.

11.2 Forbidden: abuse, threats, harassment, false statements about PTA, recording staff, attacking or probing the portal, and creating more than one account.

11.3 Complaints must be raised through My Tickets or PTA's support email, not on public or social media.

12. Suspension

12.1 PTA may suspend a candidate where it holds sufficient evidence of any of these: (a) false, edited or reused payment proof; (b) sharing, leaking or copying PTA's material; (c) sharing his sign-in credentials; (d) ten warnings for cheating in tests, or five after a reinstatement, under clause 9.

12.2 Suspension covers the CNIC, the registered email address, the mobile number, the WhatsApp number and every enrolment the candidate holds. None of these may be used to open another account while the suspension stands.

12.3 False payment proof and sharing PTA's material are the most serious offences. The account is suspended and stays suspended unless PTA accepts an appeal. The candidate may appeal through PTA's support email.

12.4 A suspended candidate is told by email that his account is temporarily suspended, and the reason. While suspended, signing in shows him that notice and nothing else. He may appeal only by writing to PTA's support email from the email address registered with PTA; an appeal from any other account is not accepted.

12.5 Sharing sign-in credentials: the candidate may apply for reinstatement through PTA's support email. On his first and second suspension, counted per person and not per enrolment for his lifetime with PTA, reinstatement may be granted in the ordinary course. From the third, clause 12.7 applies.

12.6 Ten warnings for cheating in tests: PTA may reinstate the candidate only while his package is still valid. Once the package has run out, the suspension stands; but an appeal received while the package was valid is decided as though it still were. This is separate from the count of suspensions in clause 12.5.

12.7 A third or later suspension for sharing credentials is also notified as a temporary suspension, and the candidate may appeal in the same way. Reinstatement is then solely at PTA's discretion, and PTA may refuse it.

12.8 A suspended candidate receives no refund of his fee, whether or not he is later reinstated, and time lost during a suspension is not added to his subscription, except as clause 12.14 provides. A surplus or a duplicate payment is returned under clause 6.6.

12.9 Reinstatement is at PTA's sole discretion. A suspended candidate may approach PTA only through its support email.

12.10 A candidate reinstated before his enrolment was ever activated, or whose closed enrolment is reopened under clause 5.5, must submit a fresh payment proof. He may then resubmit it not more than twice; clause 5.5 otherwise applies.

12.11 A candidate who believes he was suspended in error may write to PTA's support email. If PTA finds the suspension was a mistake, it will cancel it.

12.12 A suspension is on the person. It closes every enrolment he holds.

12.13 Misuse of PTA's procedures. If a candidate engages PTA for the sake of causing inconvenience to its administration, including by repeated resubmissions, appeals, tickets or correspondence without substance, PTA may disable his account at any stage. The decision is taken by the board of PTA, headed by its Super Admin. The fee is not refunded. A disabled account may be restored only by that board or an equivalent board of PTA.

12.14 Time for deciding an appeal. PTA will decide an appeal against a suspension, a closed enrolment or a disabled account within 14 working days of receiving it from the candidate's registered email address. Working days are Monday to Friday, leaving out public holidays. Working days apply to this time limit only; every time limit in these terms stated in hours runs continuously, including weekends and public holidays. If PTA takes longer and the candidate is reinstated, the days beyond the 14 working days are added to his subscription. Time lost up to that limit is not added.

13. Availability

13.1 The portal is provided "as is". PTA does not promise it will be free of faults or always available.

13.2 PTA is not responsible for the candidate's device, internet, electricity, WhatsApp or email.

13.3 Time lost to a fault, maintenance or an outage is not refunded or added to the subscription, except at PTA's discretion.

14. Personal information

14.1 The candidate consents to PTA collecting and keeping his details, CNIC, picture, payment proof, answers, results, device information and messages; and, where he is identified through PTA's WhatsApp, the photographs of his CNIC.

14.2 PTA uses them to run the service, verify identity, prevent fraud and improve its teaching.

14.3 PTA may contact the candidate by email, WhatsApp, text message and phone.

14.4 PTA may record the online interviews held under clauses 9.3, 9.5 and 9.9 for quality and evidence.

14.5 PTA may show results without names. It will use a candidate's name or picture in publicity only with his consent.

14.6 PTA may disclose information where the law or a lawful authority requires it.

15. Examining bodies and the law

15.1 Syllabus, pattern, dates and rules are set by the examining bodies and may change without notice. PTA is not liable for any such change.

15.2 PTA does not provide, and no candidate may ask for or share, any leaked or unlawful examination material.

15.3 If a law, court or authority requires PTA to change or stop any service, PTA may do so without liability or refund.

15.4 The candidate must obey the rules of the examining body. A penalty imposed on him by that body is his own concern.

16. Limit of liability

16.1 PTA is not liable for failure in any examination, failure to gain admission, loss of an opportunity, loss of income, or any indirect loss.

16.2 PTA's total liability to a candidate, for any reason, is limited to the fee he paid for the enrolment concerned.

16.3 The candidate will make good any loss PTA suffers because he broke these terms.

17. Complaints and disputes

17.1 PTA's decisions on academic matters, admission, content release, suspension and reinstatement are final.

17.2 Any other complaint must first be sent in writing to PTA's support email, support@pretestassessment.com, which is the address meant wherever these terms refer to PTA's support email. PTA will reply within 30 days. Appeals under clause 12 are decided within the time stated in clause 12.14.

17.3 A dispute not settled that way is referred to a sole arbitrator appointed by PTA, under the Arbitration Act 1940, sitting in Hyderabad, Sindh. The arbitrator's award is final and binding.

17.4 Subject to 17.3, only the courts at Hyderabad, Sindh have jurisdiction. The laws of Pakistan apply.

17.5 A claim must be raised within 90 days of the event complained of.

17.6 The candidate may not bring a claim jointly with, or on behalf of, other candidates.

18. General

18.1 PTA may change these terms. The new terms apply once shown on the portal; continued use is acceptance.

18.2 If any clause is found invalid, the rest remain in force.

18.3 PTA not enforcing a term at one time does not give up its right to enforce it later.

18.4 These terms are the whole agreement and override any promise made by any person on PTA's behalf.

18.5 The English text prevails over any translation.
